Ah, February. The shortest month, but somehow it felt so long! If I’m honest, it was not the greatest of months, but it could always have been worse, right? 😄 Nothing specifically comes to mind when I say that, I just don’t feel I have many fond memories from the month. Then again, it’s is February which is one of those weird months after Christmas when you’re just hoping for the cold to go away and not much else really happens. I’m waffling. My point is, the month has ended and now it’s time to go through all my favorite cruelty free beauty products from the month! I feel like I tried a fair number of new things in February – mainly foundations. There have been so many new releases and none of the things I’ve tried have given me an immediate love or hate reaction. Again, I’m ahead of myself as we’re not discussing these things today. 😉 Let’s just get to business and discuss the things I know that I loved in February…time for my Cruelty Free February Beauty Faves!!!
Ok. I know it’s clichéd, but where the bloody hell did October go?! For one, it’s only felt like Autumn for a few days of the month. What’s up with that? (Since I wrote this about 2 weeks ago, Fall has definitely arrived.) The leaves are just starting to turn. Also weird. (Again, two weeks ago….) I think perhaps there’s some kind of trick being played on me and it’s actually still September. 😂 Who’s with me? (The me from 2 weeks ago. 😉) All of that is irrelevant to this post though because it’s time for some Cruelty Free October Favorites!!! It’s been yet another month of trying to figure out what I really like on my unnaturally dried out everything. I’ll undoubtedly figure it out just as my skin reverts to its former self. 😂 Despite my trials and tribulations in the complexion realm, there are still plenty of things I’ve been loving. Without further ado, let’s jump into the Favorites!
Sorry there was no #ManiMonday last week, but if you looked for it, you probably saw that the site was having issues. 🙂 Things are back up and working properly (fingers crossed), so this week I’m back! I wanted some kind of red-berry-autumnal vibe. I hadn’t reached for a Wet n Wild polish in a while either, so that’s what I went with. Today’s shade? “Left Marooned” from the 1 Step Wonder Gel line. It is, in fact, exactly what I was after! 🙂 It’s a gorgeous deep red-toned wine perhaps? I wouldn’t call it maroon as I tend to think of that as leaning more brown. Whatever you want to call this shade, it’s beautiful!
I never managed to put together an annual favorites post in 2015 because the shit hit the fan around that time. It’s all good now and a lot of great products have entered my life since the clock struck midnight on New Year’s Eve! Because of that, and because we’ve kind of reached the half way point of the year (in blog favorites terms), I thought I would compile some of my top finds so far from 2016! Not all of these are brand new products, but I hadn’t tried them before. The one thing they all have in common is that they are fantastic! 🙂 No more suspense, let’s get to the good stuff!
I don’t think I’ve ever reviewed a brow product on this blog! No reason why – in fact I wrote one once, just never posted it for some forgotten reason. Well, that’s all going to change today because we’re talking about the Wet n Wild Ultimate Brow Mascara! I first mentioned this as one of the new items in the Spring Collection from Wet n Wild, but hadn’t really given it much of a test run yet. Now it’s made it through all the track and field events and I’m here to share the end results from the meet. Ugh! I make myself sick some days! 🙂 Enough with the silly metaphor and let’s talk about this stuff! 😉
The sun is out, the temperature is rising and I am totally feeling this color! I am back on the Wet n Wild 1 Step Wonder Gel train this #ManiMonday and wearing the shade “Coral Support.” It is absolute summer-ready perfection! It’s a gorgeous pinky-coral. Surprisingly it took me three coats to get it completely even. It was close in two, but I could still see some subtle streaks so I had to add the third. I will add that the polish looks thick and shiny much like I believe gel manicures actually do, so well done on that! 🙂 I absolutely love this shade right now!
It was an easy formula to use, though it is rather thick and somehow still a bit runny. But the brush is surprisingly good! These polishes have a flat, slightly curved tipped brush which I always find the easiest to use. No trouble with application despite the oddly thick yet slightly runny formula. I cannot find any fault with “Coral Support” from Wet n Wild! 😀
On a side note, I bought a new bottle of Seche Vite and have re-fallen in love with it as well! So shiny and easy to apply. Love the fast dry time. Hate the scent and wish it didn’t get goopy so quickly, but it’s worth it! 😉
love and stuff,
