Probably the most useful resource for anyone who is or is going cruelty free is a list of brands that qualify as cruelty free. I’ve wanted to compile such a list for a loooong time, but I must admit that it’s an overwhelming chore that requires a lot of maintenance. Alas, I’m going to do it because it’s important, useful and I feel obligated to provide you – and myself – as much information as possible. You may have already noticed a new drop-down menu at the top of the site called “Cruelty Free Resources.” Hover over it and you will see an option for a “Companies That DO NOT Test” list. Here is where a link to this list will live. I also plan to add a “Companies That DO Test” list as well as an “Awaiting Response / Grey Area” list. For right now, all that information is included in this post, but I want a central location to keep the info that can be found quickly and easily from anywhere on the site. Luckily, this menu bar follows even as you scroll down the page so you’ll be able to access it from any page no matter where you are on the site. This list will always be a work in progress as testing policies, parent companies, markets, etc are in constant flux, not to mention there are always more companies to check with. I will do my best to find a way to let you know the last date of contact with a company, though at this moment I have yet to come up with an acceptable way of doing this (if you have any thoughts, please let me know!). I’m going to try though.
It’s been a rough couple of years for me, my family and now my friends. The winter Holidays in particular have not been kind. Since dealing with these difficulties has become more and more frequent in my life, I thought I would write a post about dealing with illness. The last few years have given me an awful lot more experience with the topic. That’s not to say that I hadn’t already had more than my share, but the last few years have somehow been a little different. I have more and more often found myself being the “rock” that others are depending on for a wide variety of things. I’m not gonna lie. That’s not an easy thing to deal with. But it is something you can deal with and I thought that I would share some of my thoughts, experiences and tips for anyone else struggling to deal with one of those rough patches in life.
Let me start this out by wishing everyone the happiest of New Year’s!!! I hope everyone had a fun and safe New Year’s Eve. I’m writing this on New Year’s Eve, so I can’t tell you how mine has gone yet, but it’s a pretty safe bet that I’ve spend it chilling at home with my mini zoo of furry friends. ? I’m not usually one for much in the way of celebration, resolutions or even reflection this time of year…or anytime really! This year though, I thought I would at least think back at 2016 and actually make note of things that I feel I have changed for the better throughout the year. I never make resolutions so I can’t tell you if I’ve kept them, but I do think I notice some changes in myself that I’m feeling good about! ☺️
