A VERY Late September Cruelty Free Favorites

Alright. This post is incredibly late. It’s been written for weeks but for some reason or another, I have had the worst time getting pictures taken for it. I still want to post it because a) I still love everything mentioned, and b) I have nothing else to post anyway. Whomp, whomp, whomp. So I hope you still enjoy my ridiculously late Monthly Favorites post! Here goes…!

Yet another month has come to a close, which means it’s time for Cruelty Free September Favorites!!! Honestly September flew by so quickly that I don’t even remember it beginning. I have essentially spent the month continuing physical therapy (it’s surprisingly time consuming!) and taking one or more cats to and from the vet. Everything is ok…I will probably have a post giving more detail on life in general soon…but the vet has been needed thanks to my little Emerson (she’s 9 now so not so little!) being diagnosed with diabetes. Fortunately at this point, her A1C (sugar level) is at a good level and she seems to be doing well. Between all of that and continuing to test products for my now dry, Accutane battered skin (it’s actually not that bad, just a definite change), I don’t have a lot of genuine favorites again this month. I’ve been trying a number of things without definitive opinions which I’ll mention towards the end, but not a lot of genuine stand-out “favorite” products. I also have one product that I’ve had a bit of a change of heart about too! Not really a fail, just not as great as I remembered. So, with all that said, let’s get into the few Favorites that I do have! 😆

April’s Cruelty Free Beauty Favorites!

Wow! What a month April was! I feel like so much has happened, but I couldn’t even begin to remember what. 😂 It’s been a good makeup month, if for no other reason there was the Sephora VIB Sale as well as a ton of Friends and Family sales…not to mention I am an Ulta Platinum member which gave me a 20% off coupon too! I guess not a great month for makeup lovers’ wallets! 💸 The stuff I’ve acquired is still being tested out (admittedly I have yet to even touch a lot of it!), though there is at least one that’s already a favorite. 😉 So without further ado, let’s get to my Cruelty Free Favorites for the month of April!!!

My Cruelty Free “Travel” Makeup Bag!

If you saw my InstaStories this past week, a) thank you for watching my nonsense! and b) you’ll know that I went on a short road trip with my dad. It was just overnight, but I still over-packed…especially with the makeup. 😉 To be fair, I did use almost everything, but it’s a lot. Since I only took things that I love, I thought I would share the contents of my “travel” makeup bag with you! I’m skipping skin care as that’s a whole post unto itself; we’re just sticking to the makeup here. Like I said, there’s a lot so we best get to it! 😄 (Links to reviews and related posts in pink.)

Cruelty Free Favorites – January 2017

Believe it or not, this January Favorites is not going to start with an “I can’t believe how fast the month went” kind of intro. It was a loooong ass month. I feel like New Year’s was months ago now. In fact, I can’t remember what the hell I loved at the beginning of the month because it feels so long ago! But I’m gonna do my best. I actually don’t have a lot of favorite beauty products for January because I’ve been trying a lot of the new things. It hasn’t been all bad, I just don’t feel they’ve had a fair test yet. So my list is not very long, but I have a few things to mention…plus another non-beauty item! 🎉 And instead of dragging on further, I’m gettin’ down to business. 😜

The Skinny on Cruelty Free Brow Pencils from Anastasia, ColourPop & NYX

Over the years I have probably tried practically every method of filling in my sparse eye brows. Powders, pomades, thick pencil, thin pencils, mascaras, markers…you get the idea. I would have to say that probably one of the quickest and easiest way to fill in your brows is with a brow pencil. Though I often tend towards thicker, triangular shaped pencils (my favorite is the Hourglass Arch Pencil), recently I have been reaching for the super skinny type of brow pencils instead. Of course not all skinny brow pencils are created the same so I thought I would go through a few of the cruelty free offerings in various price ranges that are currently on the market – the Anastasia Brow Wiz, the NYX Micro Brow Pencil and the ColourPop Brow Pencil.

Quick Lazy Day Makeup ~ Look Pulled Together with Minimal Effort

We’ve all been there. You wake up late. You’re not going anywhere important. Basically you don’t really feel like going to the trouble of putting on makeup, but you still want to look at least somewhat pulled together. On days like these, I seem to have a very different set of go-to products than my “I feel like making the effort” days. It’s not necessarily fewer products, but rather a lighter look accomplished in less time. I thought I’d share what I use to feel a bit more polished on those days when just brushing your teeth feels like a chore. 😉
