Honest Beauty has recently been added to Ulta’s arsenal of beauty goodies. Naturally I thought I should give some of the products a try. 😉 If you’re not familiar with Honest Beauty, it is the supposedly eco-friendly beauty extension of the The Honest Company, which was started by the actress Jessica Alba. Unfortunately, I have recently discovered that The Honest Company (I have not seen any issues with the Beauty arm) has been the subject of a decent amount of controversy, often questioning its claims of being all-natural and plant-based. I have not seen any disputes about its cruelty free status, but I understand that some are skeptical of the company. Putting all of that aside for now, Honest Beauty launched with a whopping 83-piece collection with 17 skin care items and 66 makeup products! Honest Beauty’s philosophy is that the most important thing is “effectiveness and safety” while being honest about what products don’t contain – phthalates, parabens, petrolatum, sulfates, and chemical sunscreens. The company aims to provide versatile products for all skin tones at a reasonable price. And, of course, they are cruelty free! Assuming all of that is in fact true, who wouldn’t want to support such a brand? 🙂 I’ve tried a few makeup items from the line and thought I would do a quick overview of my thoughts on each of them for you today. So without further ado, I bring you Honest Beauty!
