Hair Care

My Current Hair Care Routine for Lifeless, Dry, Color-Treated Hair w/ Acure, Giovanni, Avalon Organics, Earth Science, Badger, Mineral Fusion & Living Proof

Firstly, let me say that I feel somewhat narcissistic writing a post about my Current Hair Care Routine because I feel like I’m bragging about how wonderful my hair is and that everyone should be envious of it. That’s not at all my intent. I actually don’tthink I have great hair, but I feel like this particular routine has made a difference in the softness, shine and overall condition of my hair. So, because of that, I thought I would share what I’ve been using on my hair to improve it!
For starters, I’ll try to describe my hair. I have chest-length, heavily color-treated hair that is often dry, dull and damaged. I have quite a bit of very fine hair strands that love to stick to themselves, creating horrible knots that make brushing while wet an absolute nightmare. My scalp has been dry and flaky, but the roots of my hair are quite prone to oiliness. Whew! Quite the lot, eh? J So, what on earth could possibly remedy all these complaints? I went on a mission to find out and these are my findings!!! J

I try to wash my hair once every two to three days to avoid overstripping the natural oils that your scalp actually needs. My first step before hopping in the shower is to brush my hair with a Tangle Teezer (see my review here) to remove any tangles and loose strands that may have accumulated since the last brushing. This just helps keep my drain from clogging, makes washing my hair easier, and makes brushing it after showering easier.

Once in the shower with my hair thoroughly drenched, I start with shampoo…shocking, I know. I have battled for a while to find a good balance that doesn’t add too muchmoisture to my limp locks, yet still deeply hydrates since it is heavily color-treated. And I can’t forget my itchy and sometimes flaky scalp. Yuck! Given my multitude of problems, and my mind-boggling quantity of shampoos, I finally started mixing some to see if perhaps that might yield better results. Well, I found the perfect solution that way! J I start with Andalou Naturals Tea Tree Scalp Treatment Shampoo and add a little bit of Giovanni’s Don’t Be Flaky! Soothing Anti-Dandruff Shampoo. I use about 2/3 Tea Tree and 1/3 Anti-Dandruff. Both are pretty good by themselves, but together, they seem to create my perfect shampoo! The Tea Tree Shampoo gets my hair nice and clean without stripping it, and it also adds a bit of life to my otherwise limp locks, while the Anti-Dandruff completely eliminates itchiness and flakes. Finally! A shampoo combo that suits all of my needs! JI begin shampooing at the nape of my neck where most of the oil and grime collects, working to the crown of my head, and just kind of rinsing any remaining shampoo over the length of my hair. Then it’s on to a conditioner…yet another battle!
I have had the worsttime trying to find a good conditioner that didn’t totally weigh my hair down, but still did something. So, using the shampoo concoction as inspiration, I decided to mix a few! I use a similar ratio – 2/3 and 1/3, respectively. I use mainly Acure Moroccan Argan Oil + Argan Stem Cell Conditioner Triple Moisture Repair (which smells like almonds and I love the scent!) with a little bit of Earth Science Olive & Avocado Deep Conditioning Hair Mask , which also smells delightful, but is more of a fresh, grass-like scent. I liked both of these conditioners alone, but I felt like the Acure was just missing some hydration, while the Earth Science was just a tad too heavy. Again, when I mix them together, it’s just the perfectconditioner! J I finger comb the mixture through my wet hair from the ears down. Whatever is left on my hands I gloss over the top of my head and let it sit for 2-5 minutes before rinsing it out. Easy and quick – two requirements for my hair! J My hair literally feels like silk as the conditioners run out of it…and it remains silky even after the conditioner is gone! Another winning combination! J
Towel drying my hair seems simple enough, but I use something that I don’t think most people do. I use a microfiber towel (I usually find them at Ulta) after gently squeezing excess water out of my hair by hand – I try to be as gentle as possible because your hair is very fragile when it’s wet. I use the microfiber towel because it absorbs more moisture, thus helping it to dry faster, and I also can kind of “pat” my hair dry instead of rubbing and tugging on it with a standard terry cloth towel. Once most of the water has been absorbed by the towel, it’s on to styling products!

Much to my own surprise, I use quite a few products on my hair. I don’t typically do much more than let it air dry, but I find these products keep it looking much healthier no matter what I do with my hair. I start with Mineral Fusion’s Volumizing Beauty Balm for Hair. This stuff claims to do just about everything – volumize, moisturize, control frizz, strengthen, repair split ends, style with light hold, protect color and protect from heat! I mainly use it as a detangling leave-in conditioner that doesn’t weight my hair down. It makes my hair so mucheasier to brush through while it’s damp. I also like that it is a heat-protectant because I feel better should I decide to heat-style my hair and forget to use a separate protecting spray. It also really does tame the little fly-aways I think we all get! J Plus, my hair seems to dry faster when I use the Beauty Balm! To apply it, I flip my head upside down and gently scrunch in about a nickel-sized amount, concentrating on the ends and below my ears. I could stop there – and sometimes do – but I really like to add a few more things before calling it a day.
The next product, Badger’s Argan Oil for Dry & Damaged Hair, could be added directly to the Beauty Balm, but I find it easier to control the products separately. I use the Argan Oil the exact same way as the Beauty Balm. I usually use about two pumps of oil for my chest length hair, which is the high end of the recommended amount, so this stuff will last for ages! It’s intended to moisturize, protect, strengthen and revitalize dull hair. I find this wonder oil also helps with detangling, conditioning, frizz-control and shine. I really like this oil! Again, I concentrate it below my ears to avoid oil slicks on my scalp! J
Finally, it’s time to add a little volume! I’m not talking ‘80’s hair here, just a bit more lift at the roots. I use Living Proof’s Full Thickening Mousse (I’m still using the baby size) and, unlike everything else, I finger comb about half of a golf ball sized amount through the roots while my head is still upside down. If there’s any reside left on my hands, after flipping my head back upright, I kind of clamp my hair as though I were making a ponytail to help distribute any residual product onto the rest of my strands. And that’s it for styling products! (As though that’s a small quantity! J)
Now it’s time to brush through that tangled, knotty mane. I grab my trusty Tangle Teezer again and gently brush through my hair. If there are any bad knots, which usually doesn’t happen with this regime, I carefully separate the tangle and gently brush it out, working up from the bottom of the knot. I really don’t like to brush my hair while it’s wet, but the Tangle Teezer is so gentle and effective that I end up with very little breakage. A wide-tooth comb works as well, but the Tangle Teezer is definitely my weapon of choice!

At this point, I’ll adjust my part if necessary (I usually just leave it wherever it feels like falling – yes, I’m that lazy) and brush into place. Once that’s done, I’ll usually try to add back a bit of the lift that brushing removes by just putting my hands on either side of my head and softly pushing up a bit. As I’ve said, I usually just let my hair air dry, so I’m all done! JBecause of the Beauty Balm and the Argan Oil, my hair really does dry faster as well!!! I’d say it takes about an hour to an hour and a half for it to fully dry with no heat. Since I typically wash my hair at night, time is not that much of an issue.
So there you have my current Hair Care Routine! Having written it out, it seems like a lot, but it really doesn’t take long. Maybe an additional five minutes after I’m out of the shower, and no added time for the actual shampooing/conditioning process. As I said, by no means do I think I have fantastic hair, but I havenoticed a difference in the health and, most notably, the softness and shine of my hair since I’ve started using this routine. I must say, if you have blonde hair – color treated or naturally – you probably know just how difficult getting it to shine can be! Though I can’t be certain, I would probably attribute the softness and shine to the Earth Science Conditioner and the Badger Argan Oil. I think the Mineral Fusion Beauty Balm definitely helps tame fly-aways, while the Giovanni Shampoo is the biggest help with dandruff. Both the Tea Tree Shampooand the Living Proof Mousse add some volume, while the Acure Argan Conditioner provides a great weightless, but hydrating conditioner. For my mixture of dry, damaged, lifeless and limp locks with a dry flaky scalp, this is currently the perfect routine! J

Acure’s Argan Stem Cell + CoQ10 Dry Shampoo – Dirty Hair’s Savior!

Ah, Dry Shampoo. A product I love to hate! J Finding a good cruelty-free dry shampoo seemed virtually impossible to me…until I tried the Acure Argan Stem Cell + CoQ10 Dry Shampoo! Now, I’ve had this at least since Christmas and I kept trying it, but just couldn’t quite figure it out. If I had had some sense and looked at the directions on the container, all of my confusion would have been remedied, but that’s just too simple! J So why did this perplexing dry shampoo keep my interest for so long? Let’s find out!!! J

Let’s first get my silly trouble with this packaging out of the way. This is a powder dry shampoo that comes in a shaker “bottle” much like a standard refill for a salt shaker. Nothing fancy and nothing complicated, but somehow just shaking the powder on to my head and trying to work it in just didn’t seem like the best way to apply it. Don’t laugh. I really did try it that way. J In fact, I tried every way I could think of to dispense this powder on my hair. Putting it on a brush and brushing it through, sprinkling it in my hand and dumping it on my head in spots, and anything else that might sound utterly ridiculous to do with your hair. Seriously, stop laughing. I know, I sound like a complete idiot, but I truly could not figure this out! One day I just decided to throw caution to the wind and dump a small puddle into my hand and finger comb through my hair. Well, wouldn’t you know that’s just about what the directions say to do! Yeah. There are directions and yes, label reading queen that I am, I failed to find them! JSo, mystery solved! Shake some of the powder into your palms and work it into the hair. I feel like I deserve some sort of breakthrough technological discovery award for that one…especially since it’s written right on the container! JSo, now that you’ve had a good chuckle, let’s move on to how it works, shall we?

Obviously there must have been some reason I kept trying so hard to figure out how to dispense this wonder powder. Indeed! There is a glorious white powder…wait, this sounds like it could be going down a different kind of road. J Let’s try again…there is a fantastic dry shampoo inside that will eliminate greasiness without altering a healthy shine! And though it is white, there is literally no white cast left behind…even on my super dark roots! I find other dry shampoos often may not exactly leave a white residue, but there can be kind of a grey cast left behind. Not cool, but not with Acure! It is also not sticky or tacky – in fact, you really can’t feel the powder at all! It contains Argan Stem Cells and CoQ10, which boost keratin and retain moisture, which helps keep hair healthy and strong…and not looking like dried out straw. Not only that, it doesn’t have a noticeable scent, which is fantastic in my book. It is hands down the best dry shampoo for refreshing and reviving hair! J

If you are looking for something to help revive day or two old hair, I would definitely recommend the Acure Argan Stem Cell + CoQ10 Dry Shampoo. I have found nothing better! And though I had trouble figuring out how to use it, there are directions right on the bottle. I just shake a bit into my palms, rub them together and, with my head held upside down to make things easier, I simply run my hands through the hair, concentrating on the roots. If needed, I’ll do this a few times until my hair looks the way I want. This dry shampoo can take care of some pretty dirty lookin’ hair if need be! J I wouldn’t say it’s the best for adding volume, but I find that whatever volume I had after initially styling my hair will pretty much return once I use Acure’s Dry Shampoo. I think one of my favorite things about this dry shampoo is that it doesn’t leave your hair looking flat and dull like many others. Your hair looks healthy and natural – literally like it was just washed! It’s fantastic stuff, and one generously sized shaker of Acure’s Argan Stem Cell + CoQ10 Dry Shampoo will last ages, unlike those spray cans that run out after about one week of use! You needto try Acure’s Dry Shampoo!!!

Acure’s websitesells the Argan Stem Cell + CoQ10 Dry Shampoo for $12.99, but you can also find it at Whole Foods (I think mine was $9.99 there) or at other online retailers like VitaCost and iHerb.

Additional April Favorites – Hair, Skin Care, Nails & Makeup!!!

I know I just did a Favorites-like post (if you missed it, you can check it out here), but it only included recently discovered items, and I stuck only to makeup. Since there are still plenty of other favorites I’ve been using this month, I figured I would share those as well! So, without further ado, here are my April favorites!

I’m going to start with a skin care item that seems to be getting a lot of buzz lately – at least the brand has. It’s the Michael Todd True Organics Tropical Fruit Scrub. I tend to like a relatively rough scrub, even on my face. The problem is, most of the “scrubbier” scrubs use ingredients with rough edges that can cause microscopic tears in the skin. Jojoba beads are probably the safest alternative to many ingredients used in scrubs, but often I find jojoba bead scrubs are so gentle that I can barely feel the scrubbing action. The Tropical Fruit Scrub mixes the best of both worlds by using jojoba beads to exfoliate, but they’re large enough that you can feel them scrubbing. It still feels very gentle, but I can feel something is working on my face. It’s really the perfect balance. Plus, the Tropical Fruit Scrub smells really good! There’s a slightly “off” tropical fruit scent to it. By “off,” I mean it doesn’t quite smell natural, which is strange because there is no artificial fragrance added. Maybe it’s more of a tropical fruit juice kind of scent. Either way, yum! JMy skin feels soft and smooth after using this scrub, and I think it looks a bit more radiant too! If all that were not enough, it is also 96% Organic, Certified Vegan and Made in the USA! I really love the Tropical Fruit Scrub, so I guess the hype is well deserved! J

Next is a Clear Hair Gloss. I’ve seen it discounted at my local Ulta, so I’m hoping it’s not being discontinued! I’m not a big one for doing much more than wash and condition my hair in the shower, but I rediscovered the Healthy Sexy Hair Reinvent Color Care Top Coat this month. I’ve had this for a long time, but never feel like adding the step to my shower routine. Once I started using it again, I feel like my hair really is shinier! It’s really simple to use – you just apply it like any other shampoo or conditioner, and leave it in for about 3-5 minutes. Then, you simply wash it out. Couldn’t be much easier! It doesn’t make my hair overly shiny, and it doesn’t feel dry or greasy, my hair just looks healthier and shines like hair is supposed to. I’ve really been loving this and will be mightily upset if it’s been discontinued! J

On to nails. I don’t know what I would do without my Julep Freedom Polymer Top Coat! My first bottle was just about gone, so I tried a few others in hopes of finding a less expensive alternative, but no luck! I ordered another bottle of the Julep, and it is amazing stuff! My polish dries quickly and it gives the most amazing shine! You can read my full review of it here.
Moving into makeup, I absolutely love the Laura Mercier Secret Concealer in “1.” It’s very similar to the famed Bobbi Brown concealer, but I think the Laura Mercier version is even better (and still cruelty-free)! It’ very creamy and a great peachy-tone that really helps cover dark circles. It’s also not so peach that you need to add a flesh-toned product over it. It stays put and I haven’t found it to crease or settle into fine lines. What more could you ask for? J Definitely give the Laura Mercier Secret Concealers a look when you have a chance!
Next, there is one lipstick I find myself reaching for over and over again. It is both for the formula andthe shade. It is the NARS Lipstick in Niagara. The formula is really comfortable, not at all drying, and it stays put. It’s no where near as dark as the bullet looks. The shade is just a nice, subtly bright pinky-coral. It’s a really great lipstick and I love the color! Sadly, I’m not in love with a lot of the other shades of NARS lipstick, but “Niagara” is well worth a look! J
Wearing NARS Lipstick in “Niagara”

Lastly, I have another brush from Bdellium Tools! It is the 772 Small Shadow brush. I really like this because it’s quite small, which makes for precise placement of eye shadow. It’s great for shading under the lower lash line as well. I use it for brightening the inner corners of my eyes sometimes too. It’s just a great detail brush and I use it all the time! J

Sorry it’s dirty!!! :/ The tip is usually white.

And there you have my additional April favorites! If you’ve tried any of these products, I’d love to know what you think of them! I’d also love to know what products you’vebeen loving this month! Feel free to leave comments below! I read them all and try to respond, but I do admit that I’m not always super fast with responses. I love hearing your feedback though, so please, comment away!!! J

Such a Tease! The Original Tangle Teezer!!!

I have found a new best friend. It is spiky, bright and fits comfortably in my hand. It is quite possibly the greatest invention of all time and the concept is so simple! Ok, perhaps I’m being a bit too enthusiastic here, but I am in love. What is the object of my affection you ask? It’s the amazing, wonderful, remarkable, ingenius, spectacular, over-priced (at least in the US) chunk of plastic goodness known as the Tangle Teezer!

I have heard numerous British beauty bloggers and YouTubers talk about the Tangle Teezer and, eventually, my curiosity was peaked. I did a google search to see where I might purchase this little gem and was frustrated to find that they are not easily available in the US yet. That’s not to say you cannot find them, it’s just a bit of an online hunt. My hunt really started and ended on Amazon where I managed to find a deal that allowed you to add a Tangle Teezer to your order for an extra $9.99. Compared to around $20 most places seemed to be charging, I decided this was a great way to try it out. Granted, the selection was limited to the Original version in either Black or Tangerine Scream (super bright orange), but I just wanted to try it. I naively figured it was nothing too special. I chose the Tangerine Scream, which actually I might have chosen even if the entire collection of Tangle Teezers was mine for the taking. I like orange. It’s bright and fun; certainly more exciting than black! So I waited for my package to arrive.
Of course once I finally had my new best friend in hand, I kept forgetting to try it out! Once I finally did, I was instantly amazed and my undying love was born! There’s nothing obviously remarkable about the appearance of the Tangle Teezer. It really is just a lump of plastic that fits nicely in the palm of your hand. The other end is covered with molded plastic spikes that actually seem a bit intimidating. They are not sharp or anything, it just looks a bit like an orange porcupine. I can’t claim to know why this little beauty works, but work it does! But what exactly does it DO? Basically, it is just a brush that easily eliminates tangles on wet or dry hair with minimal pulling – making it great for extensions as well!
I have been using my Tangle Teezer any and every time I need to tidy up my hair. If I would normally use a comb or a brush, I now pull out my Tangle Teezer. I initially wanted to try it for combing through my knotty hair when it’s wet. I usually use a wide tooth comb, but even then I have to struggle to get through my hair and, without fail, breakage occurs. The first time I tried my Tangerine Scream plastic dream, I towel dried my hair and spritzed it lightly with detangling leave-in conditioner – exactly as I always do when using a comb. Now was the time to finally try out this little wonder. I went through my hair with absolutely NOtrouble whatsoever! No snagging, maybe one or two loose hairs were left in the bristles and my hair remained pretty much tangle free once it fully air dried! Never have I used something that seemed so gentle, while still being effective, on my hair. The Tangle Teezer cut through my always tangled locks like butter. Not a snag or a tug. I have never been so impressed by a hair tool before – I’m not one to even like hair tools! JI do not know how I have lived so long without my Tangle Teezer!
Given how well the Tangle Teezer managed my hair with detangling leave-in conditioner, I wanted to see how well it worked without anything to aid tangle removal. This was partly out of curiosity and partly because I feel like my hair has become somewhat weighed down and occasionally a little greasy from using a detangler. The result without any products? Just as easy to smooth through the knots!!! The next test? Brushing through my hair when dry of course!
I tend to avoid brushing my hair too frequently, especially in the winter. Sometimes it gets too fluffy, other times it ends up pulled flat against my scalp, and often it becomes quite static-prone. So I tried out my shocking bright orange plastic wonder and it truly can do no wrong! It glides through dry hair with ease. It doesn’t flatten out the style, it seems to be gentle on the hair, I don’t end up with a giant puffy mess of frizz on my head, and NO STATIC!!! I have been forever changed and will go to whatever lengths are necessary to always have a Tangle Teezer at my disposal!
I know this may seem overly dramatic, but I really do LOVE the Tangle Teezer! I’m holding myself back from ordering a second one to keep in my handbag, but I’m not sure how long I can control my enthusiasm! J I know it’s not really a life changing discovery, but my hair is certainly happier for having found it!
Should you also be interested in obtaining your own little lump of Tangle Teezer plastic goodness, the lowest price I have seen is through’s “Add-On Item” program. According to Amazon, this new program “allows Amazon to offer thousands of low-priced items that would be cost-prohibitive to ship on their own. These items ship with qualifying orders over $25 and are eligible for free shipping.”
Here is the link to where I purchased my Tangle TeezerYou just add it to your cart along with $25 or more of other merchandise and it’s yours for another $9.99! Not a bad deal…assuming you need something else from Amazon – and who doesn’t always need something from Amazon? J I definitely recommend trying the Tangle Teezer!

Best of 2012 – Hair & Body Products!

Sticking with skin products, I’m going to move on to body care and hair care favorites for 2012. I do not really have a whole lot of stand-outs in these categories, so it should be relatively short. If you missed my 2012 favorites in skincare, you can find them here. If I have reviewed a product previously on the blog, the product name is linked to it so you can easily find more information about it. So let’s get on with some more favorites!

Starting with body products:

First, I love the Buffy Body Butter from Lush. It is a solid bar of vegetable butters with chunks of various scrubbies that you use while in the shower. To use it, I step out of the water stream and rub the bar over my skin. Then I get back into the shower stream and rinse off any bits of exfoliants that may remain. Done! It exfoliates wonderfully, while moisturizing my skin. When I get out of the shower, I don’t need to add any additional moisturizer! My main complaint with Buffy is that the bar disappears rather quickly – definitely get one of the Lush tins to keep it out of the water when it’s not being used!
My next body product is not really specific. It is simply antibacterial liquid soap. I use the Bath & Body Works Deep Cleansing or Moisturizing Soaps. The reason I’m including plain old antibacterial soap is that I use it religiously just for shaving my armpits – well, I use it to wash my hands as well, but not in the shower. Bacteria is what causes armpit odor and, though I’ve never had too much trouble with odor, I would rather be safe than stinky! J I love the scents from Bath & Body Works which is really the main reason I use their soaps. If you are planning to use these soaps for the body, I would NOT recommend getting the Foaming version because it evaporates rather quickly. It also does not create much of a barrier when shaving, but the regular pump versions work just great!

Finally, I would highly recommend the Nubian Heritage Hand Creams. They are all great, but they are slightly different. The scent varies between each one as does the consistency. My favorites are the Mango Butter Hand Cream and the Olive & Green Tea Hand Cream. These creams absorb into the skin almost immediately and they hydrate hands beautifully. I do find that I need to use them more regularly than some other hand creams, but I don’t mind because they are not even remotely greasy. Some of the scents are rather strong, but they will fade after awhile. The Mango Butter Hand Cream probably has the least noticeable scent – it smells of oranges – and it is a bit thinner than some of the others, so you don’t need too much. The Olive & Green Tea Hand Cream is a bit thicker and has a refreshing green scent – maybe bamboo? (I know that’s kind of a weird description, but it’s the best I can do!) It is also not one of the stronger, more prone to linger scents and it is very nourishing. These are beautiful hand creams that absorb into the skin better than any I have come across – and no grease!!!

Moving on to hair products. To keep my hair in the best shape I can, there are the products I’ve found to be lifesavers this year:
Once I ran out of my prior Leave-In Conditioner, I started using the It’s a 10 Miracle Leave In Product. It detangles my hair better than anything I have ever tried. My hair is left more manageable without being greasy, and I really don’t think I could get a brush through my knotty mane without this stuff! Most of the year, I used the Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Tri-Wheat Leave-In Conditioner which is also great, but once I tried the It’s a 10 Treatment, I haven’t gone back!

I’ve been using the Macadamia Natural Oil Nourishing Leave-In Cream on and off for most of the year and it definitely makes a difference in my hair. I use maybe a nickel to quarter-size amount and run it through damp hair before spritzing with the It’s a 10 Treatment. The Macadamia Treatment seems to help my hair dry faster and helps control frizz. It also helps any heat-styling hold better and last longer than without it!

If I’m planning to heat-style my hair, I like to mix some Straight Sexy Hair Darn Straight Straightening and Polishing Lotion with the Macadamia Oil Leave-In Treatment. This works for curling hair as well as straightening it! It helps to protect the hair from heat, keeps my hair a bit more manageable, and holds the style longer.

And those are the products that stood-out in 2012 for hair and body!

Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Tri-Wheat Leave In Conditioner – Amazing!

Ever since I was a little girl, my hair literally stuck to itself. I have always had the worst tangles no matter how often or well I brush my hair. My mom used to actually have to cut knots out of my hair. As I learned to care for my own hair, it improved a bit, but the tangles were still there – especially when my hair was wet. So when I came across yet another detangling product, I was a bit skeptical of it doing much. After using the Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Tri-Wheat Leave In Conditioner faithfully for a few months,I think I can say that it seems to have completely changed my hair! I can comb through it while it is still wet and I feel like it is softer and a bit less damaged than it was prior to using this product. It dries with a nice shine and is less prone to tangles throughout the day. I really love the Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Tri-Wheat Leave In Conditioner!

Healthy Sexy Hair is one of the collections included under the Sexy Hair line. According to the Sexy Hair website, the Leave In Conditioner from Healthy Sexy Hair sprays onto hair and is made with proteins to penetrate the hair while helping to detangle it. It is a nourishing moisturizer and a mild protein reconstructor in one. It contains Soy Protein to strengthen and moisturize, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein and Starch for enhanced shine and strength and body, Wheat Amino Acids to help retain moisture and add shine, Panthenol to moisturize while adding shine and body, and Cocoa Extract to help smooth the hair while conditioning it. It is safe for use on color-treated hair which is a must for my super bleached locks and it is intended to help improve softness by detangling while providing intensive repairing benefits. Whatever is in it, it seems to work and I am sold!
I use the Tri-Wheat Leave In Conditioner after I wash my hair, or anytime it is thoroughly wet. I towel dry my hair with a microfiber towel and then lightly spray this all over my hair. It has a very fine mist that covers a lot of ground with each pump so it takes about 2 seconds to get all of my long hair. Then I comb through my hair with a wide tooth comb. I now have little to no trouble getting through my knot-prone mane and I feel there is much less breakage than if I were not using the product. It seems like my hair air-dries a little bit faster and more evenly than normal and dries with a silkier feel and a slight shine that did not used to be there. I feel like my hair is in slightly better condition than before I started using this spray. It really is a wonder product in my opinion!
You can find the various Sexy Hair lines at retail locations and select salons.
A full-size is 8.5oz and costs $16.95. It is also available in a 1.7oz Travel Size for $6.00. Ulta occasionally has a Buy 2, Get 1 Free special which is a great time to try out a few products, so keep your eyes peeled!
